JANUARY 2010
HUNT WINNERS

If you have been on a hunt that you won at the MBA annual banquet please contact Dan or Paul. We need feedback (good or bad) on these hunts!! I you are not comfortable writing a short story they can help with that
ope you all had terrific holiday
and hunting seasons. The new
year is here and that means it’s time for the sportsmen shows and planning of the next years excursions.

We will have the boots at both shows and would like to have you stop by and say hello. Catch up on news and share a few hunting stories if so inclined.
As with every year we are looking for members to help with set up and manning the booths. We offer admission passes to all that put in at least four hours of help.
Contact any of the show officers for further information. Look forward to hearing from you!
The January Ground Pounders deer hunt is (or was depending on when you read this) Jan 7-9 2010 in the NJ Delaware Water Gap.
This hunt has been going on for the last 20 Years with some great times and memories for all that participate.

We are currently shopping for someone to update our website so our members have access to the latest news, ability to renew memberships and order products, hunting information and so much more. If you or someone you know would be interested in developing our site please contact any of our officers.
There have been some changes in the MA deer season for 2010. Thanksgiving week will be open for deer hunting. Check the regulations or the Mass Division of Wildlife for the actual dates.
Members, Have you a hunting story to share? We would like to publish it in this column. Also if you have gone on a hunt you won from the MBA we need to hear from you. These outfitters generously donate these hunts to your organization. In some cases they are outfitters that are new to us and we would like to either thank them with a story about your hunt in this column or warn our members of any bad experiences. If you are not comfortable with writing a story I can help with that.

Over the last few years it has been my privilege to shoot and hunt with several teenaged archers. The spark they ignite at O dark thirty when you’re trying to get both both eyes open works far better than any caffeine. To share in their excitement at a bear tree, deer stand, or an archery course embodies what passing it on is all about. These young men and women are the future of bowhunting. Let’s make sure that it’s there for them to enjoy

Worcester show dates:
February 11-14, 2010

Springfield show dates:
February 18-21, 2010
HAPPY NEW YEAR
To the Membership                                        02/05/2010

I would like to say thank you to the membership for the opportunity to work for the M.B.A. first as an area rep then as a Director and now as the Vice-President. I would also like to apologize for not being around much this past 6 months, missing most of the monthly meetings. I have had to deal with my own personal issues and it had to take priority. As my term as Vice-President has come to an end, and my time to step down is here, I hope that other members can pick up where I left off. The foundation this organization was built on really needs to continue and we as members need to keep up the fight for Bowhunters rights. I’ll still be out there when I can fighting for our sport.

Thank you,
Kenneth Teixeira
Former M.B.A. Vice –President
